"The PFS Board met Wednesday the 1st of February to discuss your overwhelming response to the consultation.

A summary of the consultation findings, as well as the full breakdown of data regarding the different issues you provided during your feedback will be shared with the CII on Monday the 6th of February. The PFS Board have asked me to share the below statement with you on their behalf.

"The Personal Finance Society (PFS) Board met Wednesday afternoon for the first time since the conclusion of the PFS member consultation. Following that meeting, the board issued the following statement. "We would like to thank the thousands of PFS members who have taken the time and effort to participate in the consultation process that began on the 17th of January. At Wednesday's meeting, the Board was presented with the findings of the member survey, as well as feedback from the webinar sessions and members' submissions written to PFS interim CEO, Don MacIntyre. The Board agreed to share these findings with the CII Board." END.

In terms of next steps, there are now two things that will happen. First, we will await a response from the CII Board to our submission of the consultation results and our summary of findings. Second, as per my previous statement, the PFS Board formally received the CII's allegations of governance failings on the 25th of January which will require a detailed review. The PFS Board agreed in the 1st of February meeting to consider these allegations in a structured, methodical manner, in order to form its response.

I also want to reassure members that no matter the ongoing activity between the PFS and CII Boards, there is a professional and dedicated team that continues to focus on the work of delivering services, and that all member events are proceeding as planned. I also want to personally apologise for the unnecessary distraction that this has caused, and I will do my utmost to ensure that I focus on building a strong PFS delivering the services our members require.

I will be sure to keep you updated as soon as I am able."

Don MacIntyre
