How long has your firm been Chartered?
18 months
Why is Chartered status important to your business?
TMD Insurance Group always takes pride in being professional and proficient in everything we do.
To receive external recognition by way of Chartered status is very gratifying. As a Chartered Insurance Broker, we can demonstrate our commitment to the highest levels of service, ethical practice and technical competency to our customers, employees, and business connections which in turn will build trust within the industry.
What initiative has the organisation been involved in which has had a social impact/corporate social responsibility focus on?
We have a varied approach to social responsibility. We are involved in many charity, wellbeing, and fund-raising events.
Every year we take part in the Insurance Day of Giving in aid of The Insurance United Against Dementia. This year it is taking place on 30 November 2023, and we are hoping to raise more funds for this worthwhile cause.
We also support the Insurance Charities Awareness Week annually to help raise awareness of this charity and how it can help those in need within our industry.
Other events include Mental Health Awareness Week, Christmas Jumper Day, sponsorship of a local non-league football team as well as local community charities such as Team Paw Animal Rescue.
We also support members of staff with their charitable events.
How do you ensure your employees remain at the forefront of their profession?
We invest in our staff in several ways. The first is by sponsoring their qualifications. This extends to all areas of the business.
The main area though is the CII qualifications. This is via self-study or apprenticeships.
How have you implemented the CII (Chartered Insurance Institute) Code of Ethics into your business?
The CII Code of Ethics is reinforced annually and embedded in our cultural values via our own code of conduct.
What advice would you give a firm who is considering applying to become Chartered?
Definitely do it! - it will make you stand out amongst your peers, provide reassurance and value to customers, staff, and your business connections.
Look at the Corporate Chartered status page on the CII website. Understand the criteria and how you will implement this. Speak to the Corporate Chartered status team as they will answer any questions you may have.
