How long has your firm been Chartered

HJP first obtained Chartered status in 2009.

Why is Chartered status important to your business?

We need to put ourselves in our client’s shoes. When discussing personal financial matters, a client wants to choose a firm they can truly trust.

We believe in holding ourselves to the highest professional standards, and being Chartered is a way to make us stand out from the other local financial planning firms available.

What initiative has the organisation been involved in which has had a social impact/corporate social responsibility focus on?

Our focus in recent years has been to help our local community feel more confident about their finances.

We believe this starts from a young age, and we have been available to provide financial education to local schools, academies, and charities.

How do you ensure your employees remain at the forefront of their profession?

We offer all our staff training & development opportunities, including paying for them to undertake professional qualifications.

We offer free study hours during work time, and support staff who undertake professional exams.

How have you implemented the CII (Chartered Insurance Institute) Code of Ethics into your business?

As a company, we have a set of values we expect all our staff to adhere to. This helps maintain our high quality of advice, excellence in our client servicing, and to treat everyone fairly.

What advice would you give a firm who is considering applying to become Chartered?

Make sure everyone in the company is involved and understands the importance of becoming Chartered.

Our staff benefit from us helping their own career development as we support any CII exams undertaken. Also, by integrating the Code of Ethics into our company culture, we can set a standard that requires continuous investment and commitment by all staff.
