Bringing members together across Plymouth & Cornwall

Last December, the Plymouth & Cornwall PFS Local Committee – run by volunteers from the Plymouth & Cornwall Insurance Institute Council – hosted its first ‘Meet the Committee/Council’ event, bringing together professionals from across the financial services and insurance sectors.
Held at Plymouth venue Twist, the event combined board games, handcrafted cocktails and mocktails with meaningful professional networking. Its aim was to build visibility of the new collaborative relationship between the PFS Local Committee and the Insurance Institute Council, while creating a relaxed space for members to connect. In terms of shaping activity in 2025, discussions covered CPD opportunities, networking, and social events, with many expressing enthusiasm for more informal gatherings.


These ambitions to foster connection, collaboration and community across the region have been realised in 2025.
This year the committee has supported 12 members who are studying towards their Diploma and helping them as they prepare for their exams.
Face-to-face CPD events for PFS members have been resurrected for the first time since before Covid. Before the end of this year, members can look forward to these two events:
Winning solid rapport in seconds, master soft questioning skills, and influencing clients with integrity (Bernie De Souza, The Global Coaching Company Ltd)
