Please do engage with our paraplanning panel to learn more about what the PFS delivers for paraplanner members.
Alan Gow
Panel Chair Owner and Paraplanner of Argonaut Paraplanning
I’m one of the directors at Argonaut Paraplanning, a multi-award winning outsourced firm which I set up in 2011. I’ve been on the panel for about 10 years and it’s helped force me to challenge myself, getting involved in things I never thought I’d do, like presenting online and speaking on stage. I’m the current Chair of the panel and have overseen projects such as producing our Suitability Report Writing Guide. I help find interesting speakers and informative topics for our Paraplanner Lab webinar series and the Purely Paraplanning Conference. My passion is bringing Suitability Reports out of the dark ages, focusing on consumer duty and client understanding.
Hannah Wynick
Founder and Managing Director of Core Financial Paraplanning Limited
I have been an outsourced Paraplanner for over 14 years’ experience, founding Core Financial Paraplanning Limited in 2011.
I was honoured to be named Director of the Year at the 2023 Yorkshire Financial Awards and Team Leader of the Year at the 2024 Professional Paraplanner Awards—recognition that means a great deal to me and my team.
I joined the PFS Paraplanning Panel in 2023 as I felt that I had so much to say on the subject. I have always felt that empowering new paraplanners was of the upmost importance, especially in the outsourced space, and as such, I have been involved in creating the PFS Guide to Paraplanning.
For me, an important part of being on the panel is that I get to work with people who push me (in the best way) but also motivate me to be a better Paraplanner. It has also allowed me to be involved in some great initiatives such as the Purely Paraplanning conferences
Luke Sparkes
Head of Technical Paraplanning, In Partnership Financial Advisers Limited
I’ve been Paraplanning for the past four years and became a Fellow and Chartered with the Personal Finance Society in 2022. Having won the Professional Paraplanner of the Year Award in 2024 and been awarded Highly Commended in the Paraplanning Team Leader of the Year with them for 2025, I have a strong passion for the profession. I joined the PFS Paraplanning Panel to raise the profile of the profession, as well as to champion the education of the profession both within Schools and also new entrants to the industry. Having joined the PFS Paraplanning Panel in August 2024 as one of the newer members, I want to really help drive the good standards of all the fantastic initiatives including both the Suitability Report Writing Guide and Paraplanner Labs Sessions. I live in Horsham with my wife and young son and enjoy both reading and keeping healthy in my spare time
Phil Greenwood
Head Of Technical Consulting at EQ
I’m Phil, I’m a Fellow of the PFS and have been paraplanning in various guises for over 10 years, the last 7 have been heading up paraplanning departments and getting quite heavily involved in how the company operates on a wider basis; from process, to training, to technology and most things in between. Through this I’ve seen first-hand how pivotal paraplanners have become. I am focussed on helping to define the scope of the role and providing guidance to the paraplanning community on best practice. I am passionate about paraplanning as a profession and would love to help provide the next generation of paraplanners a solid foundation to build their careers on.
Laura Royle
Senior Paraplanner at Bourlet Consulting
I have been a Paraplanner for around ten years, working previously at Rathbones and Sanlam (now atomos). I am a member of both the CISI and Personal Finance Society and have completed my Advanced Diploma in Financial Planning, achieving Chartered Financial Planner status with the PFS. I am a qualified Pension Transfer Specialist with additional qualifications in insurance, mortgages, equity release arrangements and long-term care planning, as well as ESG and social impact investing.
I joined the PFS Paraplanner Panel around June 2023 in order to meet and learn from more members of the paraplanning community, reinforce the position of paraplanning as a career in its own right and establish inclusive support for paraplanners at all stages of their careers and study paths.
Having received a late diagnosis of ADHD and recently fibromyalgia and ME/CFS, I am an advocate for neurodiversity and wider disability inclusion.
Sophie Brown
Head of Paraplanning at Ward Goodman
I entered the financial services industry in 2018 after completing a placement year as part of my university degree and was offered a Trainee Paraplanner position. I have since completed my diploma as well as other exams including Trusts, Long Term Care Planning and Equity Release and am currently working through the AF exams on the road to chartered.
I am passionate about getting younger people into the industry and am excited to be on the paraplanning panel to highlight further what a fantastic career route paraplanning and financial services is.
