Kate Gannon welcomed as new PFS President

Kate Gannon has been a Director of the PFS Board since February 2025, and is a founder of Themis Wealth Management in Cornwall. She is a Chartered Financial Planner and Fellow of the PFS. Kate won Chartered Financial Planner of the Year in 2016/17 and has previously been named Role Model of the Year at the Women in Financial Advice Awards. She also mentors and attends schools in her local area to promote the financial planning profession on behalf of the PFS.

Craig Palfrey also joined the PFS Board in March of 2025. He has been a Certified Financial Planner since 2007, and is also a Chartered Wealth Manager. He is a long-standing Education Champion for the PFS. Craig has been Managing Director of Penguin Wealth Planners since 2010, where he leads the Financial Planning Team, and Compliance Oversight.

Outgoing PFS President, Carla Brown, will remain Chair of the PFS Board. The appointments are subject to the continued service of Kate and Craig as Directors of the PFS. 

Speaking at the ceremony, Kate Gannon said: “I am truly honoured to serve as PFS President. It has been a career-long ambition and I do not take on the role lightly. I look forward to spending the next year working with all our PFS members to unlock potential, create opportunity and help even more people see what they can achieve in this brilliant profession that has personally given me so much.”

Craig Palfrey said: “I am delighted to become Vice President, supporting Kate, the PFS Board and all our members to advance great Financial Planning.”

Carla Brown, Chair of the PFS Board and outgoing President, said: “I am delighted to hand the role of President over to Kate, who has been an exceptional Vice President throughout the course of 2025. Kate and Craig each bring extensive knowledge and experience to their positions, and I look forward to our continued collaboration within the PFS Board, as we work to deliver for our members and the wider profession.”
