David Tuckett, Barry Smith
In this special lecture held to celebrate the CII's Chartered Centenary, Professor David Tuckett, an acclaimed researcher into the role that emotions and behaviour play in financial decisions, examines how emotions affect not only end-consumer behaviour but also the decision-making process of financial service providers.
The respondent for the insurance profession is Barry Smith, chief executive officer, Ageas Insurance. In the following video, he shares his thoughts and experience on how consumers decide on financial products.
The Nicholas Barbon Lecture series, which looks at the impact of major trends on insurance, was held in the CII's Insurance Hall from May to June 2012 as part of the celebrations to mark the CII's Chartered Centenary. The lecture series which was produced and managed by Marketforce, was recorded for the benefit of CII members across the UK and the globe.
Each lecture has been accredited by the CII and can be included as part of your CII CPD requirement should you consider it relevant to your professional development needs.
