Join the Personal Finance Society Board as a Member Director!

The Personal Finance Society (PFS) is looking for a Member Director to join its Board, offering an excellent opportunity to shape the Society’s strategy and make a visible impact on the future of the profession.

The Nominations Committee is now inviting applications from members who can bring insight, experience and diverse perspectives to support the Society’s vision and mission:

To support our Members and the wider profession in realising the financial ambitions of individuals around the world by:

  • Being an influential voice for our Members and every stakeholder.
  • Championing the value of the financial planning profession across society.
  • Setting and promoting professional and ethical standards.
  • Educating and supporting our Members throughout their careers; and
  • Providing practical tools and resources to help Members build resilient and successful practices.

We are committed to building a Board that reflects the breadth of our profession. We therefore strongly encourage applications from members of all backgrounds, experiences, and career stages, and particularly welcome applicants from paraplanning, policy development, compliance, or adviser support services, alongside all other areas of the profession.

The Role

In total, you should expect to attend a minimum of four to six Board meetings each year, plus a strategy day, the Annual Officers’ Conference, the Personal Finance Awards, the AGM, and at least one regional meeting.

In line with the PFS Articles of Association (3.5), this is an unpaid role. Reasonable expenses, including travel and subsistence, will be reimbursed.

The successful candidate will take up the position once their appointment is ratified by the PFS Board. The term of office continues to the conclusion of the PFS AGM 2026 and is then subject to annual rotation, up to a maximum term of six years.
