About the conference?
Investment planning is central to the financial planning process. It is essential to be fully up to date with the latest developments in the investment world – especially in these difficult and challenging markets. In particular, financial planners and advisers operating at the high net worth end of the market need to be several steps ahead of their increasingly sophisticated client base.
This high level conference will draw out some of the current issues in investment planning. It will feature how investors behave in turbulent markets and how to understand their thinking in order to provide really effective investment planning.
The conference will review the benefits and drawbacks of products that seek to provide returns in all kinds of investment markets in a discussion on the relative merits of long only versus UCITS 3 and hedge funds. Specialist speakers will also assess the risks of using structured products in building client portfolios.
There have been radical changes to the tax regime governing investments and these will be subject of an in-depth session looking at the different roles of investment bonds and collectives in tax and financial planning.
The key themes of the day will then be brought together in a specially designed investment case study. The aim will be to focus on different investment strategies and the pros and cons of outsourcing the investment function, giving you a chance to review how you manage your investment strategy and allowing you to reflect on how to maximise the use of your key resource – your own valuable time.
