Volunteer of the Year 2011

Many PFS members are actively involved in excellent pro-bono initiatives both within the PFS regions, to support the advisory community, and within their local communities, to help consumers and young people gain a better understanding of, and confidence making decisions about, personal finance. All make a significant contribution to educating the public and raising the profile and trust of the advisory profession.

The PFS Volunteer of the Year 2011 award aims to recognise one individual PFS member who has given up their time, energy and expertise during 2010/2011, above and beyond the call of duty, to make a significant positive impact within their region or local community.

How do I nominate?

To nominate the member who you believe has really stood out please could you support your nomination with the following information:

  • Committee position and PFS region if applicable
  • An overview of the type and quality of the work this person has been involved with, highlighting its impact and outcomes, with an explanation of why you consider this person to be worthy of this special award
  • Evidence of any charitable support in the local community
  • Details of any voluntary work undertaken at a national level
  • Endorsements from others in regard to the leadership shown, innovative approach or pioneering spirit.

A judging panel will conduct a preliminary analysis of the entries and shortlist three candidates to go forward to the PFS Board to determine the winner. The Volunteer of the Year will be announced and presented with a trophy and a 2012 professionalism pass at the PFS Annual Conference Chartered Awards Dinner on 10 November at the ICC in Birmingham.
