Almost 2,100 financial advisers are now proud holders of the coveted Chartered Financial Planner title, increasingly recognised as the gold standard of the financial advisory profession. Over 290 financial planning firms can now also distinguish themselves after being awarded corporate Chartered status.
Receiving a Chartered Award from the Personal Finance Society, the UK’s foremost professional body, will represent the ultimate endorsement of excellence and professional achievement.

As part of its support for the financial adviser community Skandia will again be the headline sponsor of the Chartered Awards as well as sponsor of the Chartered Financial Planner of the Year individual award. Skandia believes the ongoing development of professional standards in the financial advice sector is crucial to ensuring financial advisers gain recognition for the valuable service they provide to consumers. Peter Mann, chief development officer at Skandia commented: "We are delighted to be supporting the Chartered Awards again during 2010. The PFS continues to do a huge amount of excellent work to help financial advisers manage their professional development and the Awards will be a great opportunity to recognise excellence and commitment to the financial advisory profession. The focus on professional standards and qualifications is only going to increase with the Retail Distribution Implementation Programme so it is the perfect time to recognise the great progress many advisers have already made."
