On 16 December 2009, the FSA published consultation paper CP09/31 setting out its views on the RDR professionalism proposals, and also whether and how the RDR should apply to corporate pensions and pure protection advice. On 7 December 2009 the PFS published Building trust through independent standards: Our view on an Independent Professional Standards Board. It sets out our model for the body proposed as part of the FSA's Retail Distribution Review. On 25 June 2009 the FSA published its RDR Consultation Paper (CP 09/18) setting out the next steps and draft rules on retail distribution of investment products. FSA Qualifications Updates:

On 6^th March 2009 the FSA issued a statement seeking to clarify its intention for the new benchmark qualification at level 4 to deliver a step change in standards of professionalism.
