Types of membership
Membership of the PFS is open to anyone wholly or mainly employed or otherwise engaged in work connected with financial services.
Those who pass Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) qualifications, or other PFS-accredited qualifications, and who become members, may use PFS designations.
Chartered Financial Planner Chartered status is for those at the highest level of academic attainment and professional achievement. Research proves that consumers value and appreciate Chartered Status. |

Fellowship of the PFS is the premier qualification for those working in the financial servives profession. It is measured at degree standard. |
| APFS |
Associate members have advanced qualifications such as the Advanced Diploma. |
| DipPFS |
This is for members who have completed a Diploma level qualification - the equivalent of a Certificate of Higher Education/HNC. |
| CertPFS |
Certificate-level qualifications are on a par with A-levels. |
| Student |
Student membership is for new entrants to the financial services sector, those embarking on their first qualifications or those who simply wish to be able to enjoy the range of PFS membership benefits. |
