As part of our stated mission to protect the public by serving the profession, the PFS/CII has developed and refined a code of ethics. Ethics is the cornerstone of professionalism, and ethical behaviour is crucial in the battle to secure public trust and confidence in financial services. It is essential that all those working within financial servicesc comit to ethical standards if the profession is to prosper.
Setting standards of integrity for our profession
The code of ethics has been designed to provide you with practical, realistic guidance to follow. It identifies you as belonging to a genuine profession.
The code requires that you:
- Act with the highest ethical standards and integrity.
- Act in the best interests of each client.
- Provide a high standard of service.
- Treat people fairly regardless of: race or racial group; sex or sexual orientation; religion or belief; age; and disability.
