Discover Fortunes is a new board game that we have developed to introduce students to the Financial Planning profession. It is aimed at helping them better understand the different elements of investments, pensions, savings and protection and their application to the differing needs of a range of specially developed characters and financial scenarios.
Following success with the CII’s Discover Risk campaign, Discover Fortunes was developed to help raise awareness of careers in financial planning and help lay the foundations for the recruitment of the next generation of Chartered Financial Planners.
The game has undergone some excellent pilots in schools and is now being rolled out in schools and colleges throughout the UK. The initial results have been excellent, with an impressive 90% of students saying that they would now consider a career in financial planning after playing the game.
Experienced Chartered Financial Planner members of the Personal Finance Society have been keen to get involved in demonstrating the game in their local school and answer questions from students about their profession.
