The paper serves as a starting point to a major research project
we are undertaking to demonstrate that adopting higher professional
standards in general insurance contributes to positive outcomes,
not just for retail and commercial customers but also the sector's
ability to attract and keep talent.
As a prelude to this further work, CII Board member Jackie Wells
has sketched out how such a project could proceed. We have
published this as a public Paper in Professionalism not just to
share our thinking with the sector and broader professional bodies
community, but also because we are open to feedback, thoughts and
suggestions from readers to inform our work going forward.
