I recently had the pleasure of attending the Chartered Insurance
Institute's annual President's Dinner, hosted at the magnificent
One of the highlights of the night was seeing well-known PFS
member Darren Cooke accept a Building Public Trust Award.
Darren's petition on banning cold calling was instrumental to
the Government's decision to introduce a ban on pension cold
calling as part of its Autumn statement in November.
Mr Cooke has become a prominent voice within the trade and
consumer press, on a range of topics related to protecting
consumers from unscrupulous market behaviour, and I congratulate
him on his latest award.
Influential journalist and broadcaster Paul Lewis was also a
winner on the night, taking out the Building Public Trust Consumer
Champion Award. Well done Paul!
