Earlier this month, we launched our plans to host the biggest event in this year's financial services calendar.
I am thrilled to report that we have already had more than 800 people register to attend A Festival of Financial Planning, to be held at Birmingham's National Exhibition Centre on 7-8 November. Demand from members has been phenomenal, particularly given we are yet to reveal the exciting line-up of speakers we are finalising for the event.
Stay tuned in the coming weeks when we'll reveal the names of key speakers who will appear as part of an insightful and flexible programme of workshops, panel discussions and keynote sessions.
While the excitement builds in the lead up to November's flagship event, we continue to put on a range of other conferences and specialist events across the country.
We've reached the half-way point of our Q2 regional conferences while our upcoming Retirement & Later Life Planning roadshows have already attracted more than 1000 registrations across six events.
It is pleasing that so many members are engaging with us and each other through our range of professional development events, and we always welcome any feedback - whether positive or negative! email@example.com
I recently had the pleasure of attending the Chartered Insurance Institute's annual President's Dinner, hosted at the magnificent Banqueting House. One of the highlights of the night was seeing well-known PFS member Darren Cooke accept a Building Public Trust Award. Darren's petition on banning cold calling was instrumental to the Government's decision to introduce a ban on pension cold calling as part of its Autumn statement in November. Mr Cooke has become a prominent voice within the trade and consumer press, on a range of topics related to protecting consumers from unscrupulous market behaviour, and I congratulate him on his latest award. Influential journalist and broadcaster Paul Lewis was also a winner on the night, taking out the Building Public Trust Consumer Champion Award. Well done Paul!
