The Society of Mortgage Professionals have announced that 500
mortgage advisers have already completed the CII Level 4
Certificate in Advanced Mortgage Advice since its launch just
two years ago.
A survey of existing CII Level 3 Certificate holders also
revealed that more than 70 per cent were planning to progress to
Level 4, with 150 enrolling for the qualification during the last
two months alone.
The RQF Level 4 Certificate was introduced by the CII in August
2014 to enable advisers to diversify their skills into areas such
as bridging finance, auctions, financing foreign properties and
other specialist types of mortgage lending. It puts mortgage and
protection professionals on par with their investment
"The fact that 500 advisers have already gained the extra
qualification is testament to the ever-growing desire within the
mortgage market for the highest level of professional
qualification," stated Society of Mortgage Professionals head of
professional development, Lee Travis.
"It is an ideal next-step for the 30,000 people who currently
hold the CII Certificate in Mortgage Advice and only requires
completion of one further unit - the R07 advanced mortgage advice -
if R01 and CF6 are held."
